Your GDPR Rights
ONLYRiDES is committed to protecting your personal data. This page explains your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation and how to exercise them.
Data Protection
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the GDPR grants you specific rights regarding your personal data. We have built tools into the platform to make exercising these rights as straightforward as possible.
Your Rights Under the GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) provides individuals with a set of rights regarding the processing of their personal data. Below is a detailed explanation of each right and how you can exercise it on ONLYRiDES.
Right of Access (Article 15)
You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether your personal data is being processed and, if so, to request access to that data along with information about the purposes of processing, the categories of data concerned, the recipients, and the retention period.
How to exercise this right
Download a copy of your data from your Privacy Settings.
Go to Privacy SettingsRight to Rectification (Article 16)
You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data and to have incomplete personal data completed. This includes your profile information, account details, and any other data we hold about you.
How to exercise this right
Update your personal information directly in your profile and account settings, or contact us for data that cannot be edited through the platform.
Go to Profile SettingsRight to Erasure (Article 17)
Also known as the "right to be forgotten," you have the right to request deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, when you withdraw consent, when you object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds, or when the data has been unlawfully processed.
How to exercise this right
Request account deletion from your Account Settings. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (such as financial records for 7 years).
Go to Account SettingsRight to Data Portability (Article 20)
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (JSON). You also have the right to transmit that data to another controller without hindrance from ONLYRiDES.
How to exercise this right
Use the "Download My Data" button in your Privacy Settings to export your data as a JSON file.
Go to Privacy SettingsRight to Object (Article 21)
You have the right to object to processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests, including profiling. When you object, we will cease processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms.
How to exercise this right
Contact our Data Protection Officer to submit an objection.
Right to Restrict Processing (Article 18)
You have the right to request restriction of processing when you contest the accuracy of the data (while we verify), when processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction over erasure, when we no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims, or when you have objected to processing (while we evaluate).
How to exercise this right
Contact our Data Protection Officer to request processing restrictions.
Right to Withdraw Consent (Article 7(3))
Where processing is based on your consent (such as analytics cookies or marketing communications), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
How to exercise this right
Manage cookie consent through Cookie Settings in the footer. Manage notification preferences in your account settings.
Response Time
We will respond to your data protection request within 30 days of receiving it. If a request is particularly complex or we receive a large number of requests, we may extend this period by an additional 60 days. In that case, we will inform you of the extension and the reasons for it within the initial 30-day period.
Identity Verification
To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing a data request. If you submit a request via email, we may ask you to verify it through your authenticated ONLYRiDES account. This ensures that your data is only shared with or acted upon by you.
Supervisory Authority
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data protection request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As ONLYRiDES is established in Malta, the lead supervisory authority is the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta. You may also contact the supervisory authority in the EU Member State where you reside or work.
